A baseball game during the first week of June compares to a single strand of hair on your head. It's easy to overlook but can offer insights about the overall situation. Such games can mark significant winning or losing streaks' beginning, end, or continuation.

Thursday's matchup between the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox exemplified this, as it perpetuated the South Siders' losing streak, marking yet another episode in a season that seems destined for humiliating immortality.

The White Sox set a 100-year-old franchise record in Thursday's 14-2 loss. The blowout defeat marked their 14th straight loss and 18th loss in their last 19 games. White Sox pitching surrendered 24 hits and issued five walks. Pedro Grifol and Chris Getz's White Sox are baseball's worst team with a record of 15-48 .

Chicago's starting pitchers and three relievers each allowed at least one run. The only exception was infielder Danny Mendick, who pitched a scoreless ninth inning.

In typical tone-deaf fashion for the organization, play-by-play broadcaster John Schriffen read an ad for season ticket holder appreciation week in the ninth inning, with an infielder pitching, while the White Sox were losing by 12 runs and setting a franchise record in embarrassment.

The organization exemplified its ignorance again Friday morning with a thoughtless post on X/Twitter. For those who don't know, a shooting occurred inside Guaranteed Rate Field last season during a game between the Pale Hose and Oakland A's.

Questions about how the weapon moved through security and who fired it remain unanswered. But the White Sox did cancel the post-game Vanilla Ice concert.

The White Sox have produced many losing seasons in the last decade, many of which have been forgotten by the masses. However, the organization generates more memorable embarrassing moments than victories.

Thursday added yet another drop to the ocean of humiliation that is Chicago White Sox baseball.
