Bears could sign ex-Chiefs star to fill biggest roster hole in free agency

Training camp will be here soon and there should be plenty more movement in free agency.

The Chicago Bears still have plenty of money to spend and should be considering all options at this point. While the Bears struggled last season, they have had a very strong offseason and realistically could be a playoff team in 2024.

Chicago vastly improved the offense and seems to be in a very good spot. While this is the case, improving on the edge has been a spot some have speculated that the Bears need. One player who still is available and could make a lot of sense for the Bears is former Kansas City Chiefs star Frank Clark.

The three-time Pro Bowler spent the 2023 season with the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks and tallied eight tackles in eight games played. At one point he was one of the best defensive ends in football and he could be an intriguing depth option for the Bears.

He was a Pro Bowler with the Chiefs each season from 2019 to 2021 and now is just 31 years old. In 2022, he had five sacks and 39 total tackles in 15 games played.

Chicago clearly has improved this offseason but it still has money left to spend and should be considering ways to bolster the defense. The Bears' offense should be great in 2024 but the defense isn't as robust at this point. Clark could be an option to help fix that at a cheap price. After appearing in eight games last season, the Bears likely could sign Clark for a low cost but he certainly has upside.

At this point, why not consider a move with training camp approaching? Bears fans should be excited about the team right now but there still is room for growth.
