NBA Draft night experienced interesting shake-ups ahead of the Chicago Bulls' pick at 11th overall. The Bulls had been looking at multiple players, lending to a possible trade up or trade down situation. After the dust settled, the Bulls ultimately got their guy with the 11th pick.

With the 11th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the Bulls selected forward Matas Buzelis. Buzelis was drafted from the NBA G-League Ignite. Buzelis was reportedly one of the Bulls' prospects they were heavily interested in.

Buzelis has multiple connections to the Bulls and the front office. Buzelis comes from Lithuanian heritage where both of his parents were pro athletes. Bulls' President of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas is also Lithuanian. On top of that, Buzelis grew up in the Chicagoland area and attended Hinsdale Central prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Buzelis brings a versatile skill set as a big wing/guard. His ball handling skills and court vision are what separates him from the rest and should make him NBA ready. Comparisons have been made to Michael Porter Jr. and Gordon Hayward. Buzelis would fit that mold being an All-Star caliber talent, but may not be the number one option offensively.

When he was drafted, Buzelis was emotional knowing he was going home to Chicago and thanked the organization for selecting him. As a local product, Bulls fans and NBA experts are excited to see what he can do.
