There will be (presumably) bigger moves coming, but the Chicago Bulls added some depth following the 2024 NBA Draft by signing former Illinois forward Marcus Domask to an Exhibit 10 deal.

Domask played one year for the Fighting Illini, averaging 15.9 points, five rebounds and 3.9 assists a game. He, along with Terrence Shannon Jr., led Illinois to an Elite Eight run before succumbing to the eventual national champion UConn Huskies.

Domask now has a chance to latch on with the Bulls, who didn't have a second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. An Exhibit 10 deal, a common practice among NBA teams seeking depth players, entails the following:

“It allows a franchise to convert a player (specifically on a non-guaranteed one-year minimum) to a two-way contract. A player can sign for an Exhibit 10 bonus of up to $50,000. If converted, the two-way contract is guaranteed for that amount.

"Additionally, a player who is waived (and clears waivers) before the season on Exhibit 10 can sign with the G League to play for the NBA team’s affiliate franchise. If that player sticks with the G League team for at least 60 days, they’ll receive their Exhibit 10 bonus. An affiliate player in the G League is technically a free agent eligible to sign with any NBA team.”

What does this mean? If nothing else, local Chicago Illini fans may be able to still watch one of their favorite players from this past season up close should he ultimately not make the Chicago Bulls but instead play for their G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls.
