CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Cook County judge has made a decision over the multi-million dollar estate of a Southwest Side man who died more than seven years ago.

Thing is when Joseph Stancak died in 2016 there was no indication the retired Gage Park electrician had a will.

The Chicago Sun-Times said Stancak’s surprising estate of $11 million was about to be split among more than 100 relatives, about $100,000 each, when a will surfaced. That was last June.

Two New York men claimed to have witnessed Stancak sign the will in New York in 2015. One of them said he found the will while cleaning for a move.

The will leaves all Stancak’s money to an inactive daycare company led by one of the two men, and a judge said that the will is valid but said other potential heirs could contest it.
