Stephen A. Smith Made His Opinion Of Angel Reese Unmistakably Clear
By Angelo Guinhawa,

Veteran sports commentator Stephen A. Smith firmly believes that Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is currently on the lead in the Rookie of the Year race, especially after her recent performance against the Las Vegas Aces.
The Sky lost to the Aces on Thursday, 95-83, but Reese still impressed with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The Sky wing extended her double-double streak to nine games, tying Candace Parker's record for the most in a single season.
In an analysis post on LinkedIn, Smith expressed his belief that Reese is "taking control" of the Rookie of the Year race with her consistent performances. Many have Reese and Caitlin Clark as the frontrunners for the award, but Stephen A. is giving the edge to the former for now.
"Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese is taking control of the WNBA Rookie of the Year race. With her ninth consecutive double-double, Reese tied Candace Parker for the longest single-season streak in WNBA history. Reese had 18 points on 7 of 16 shooting and 11 rebounds as the Sky lost 95-83 to the Las Vegas Aces," Smith shared.
"Angel Reese also set the WNBA single-season record for most consecutive games with double figures rebounding, getting her 10th in a row."

Stephen A. Smith's take certainly has merits. After all, Angel Reese's sensational play has put the Sky in contention for a playoff seed. The Sky is currently sitting at No. 8 in the standings. Reese is also averaging 13.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
However, the Rookie of the Year race is far from over. Caitlin Clark also continues to make history , most recently becoming the fastest WNBA player ever to record 300 points, 100 rebounds and 100 assists.
Indeed, it looks like the ROY battle between Reese and Clark will go down the wire.
