Kyle Davidson is keeping everyone busy on the NHL Draft's second day. Having selected John Mustard and AJ Spellacy in the third round, the Hawks acquired a third third-round pick. The Chicago Blackhawks traded a 2025 third-round pick to the Carolina Hurricanes to trade back into the third round at pick #92. With the 92nd pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, the Blackhawks selected winger Jack Pridham out of the BCHL.

Pridham is committed to play college hockey at Boston University in the fall, but played really well in the BCHL this past season. The BCHL is an independent junior hockey league in Canada, separate of the CHL. However, the league was considered Junior "A" hockey to the CHL until they became independent in 2023. Junior "A" is considered tier-two juniors in Canada.

In 54 games with the West Kelowna Warriors, Pridham posted 49 points (23 goals, 26 assists) and in 10 playoff games had 11 points (eight goals, three assists). Pridham is a player that plays with good speed, once again fitting the profile of player that Kyle Davidson likes. Pridham should get meaningful development with BU this fall.

A fun fact, Pridham's father, Brandon Pridham, is the assistant GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jack has been around the game for a long time thanks to Brandon's role in the NHL. Now, Jack will have a chance to chase his own NHL dreams.

Here's what Elite Prospects said about Pridham:

Pridham is a nuanced north-to-south attacker who leverages speed, edge work, and a high-end motor to create advantages. On-puck, Pridham ramps up proactively, pushes defenders on their heels, blends delay elements opening up lanes to attack inside, and executed quick, but simple tap-by handles to slip pressure off the entry.

Assuming Kyle Davidson is done making trades, which can never be the case, the Blackhawks have two picks (138, 163) remaining on day 2. Davidson already traded back in once, and certainly could do so again.
