CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Cook County prosecutors laid out a pattern of alleged harassment and violence by the man they’ve charged with murdering 11-year-old Jayden Perkins.

Crosetti Brand allegedly showed up at the Edgewater apartment building where Jayden lived with his mother two months before he stabbed them. That’s according to prosecutors who said it was part of a pattern the 38-year-old had with women he had broken up with.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported prosecutors want the judge in the case to allow them to share 37 phone calls that they said he made to Jayden’s mom from prison. Cook County assistant state’s attorneys consider it an obvious escalation of violence before the March attack.

Two members resigned after the I llinois Prisoner Review Board decided to release Brand from prison the day before he allegedly killed Jayden.

Prosecutors want to call ex-girlfriends to testify, including one who Brand threatened with her young son at gunpoint in 2015 as well as a CTA bus driver Brand punched so hard she blacked out.

He served time in both cases.
