CHICAGO — An investigation is underway on Tuesday after a group of gunmen opened fire on a man sitting inside a car on the city’s West Side, leaving him fatally wounded.
Chicago police say the gunfire erupted just after 9:30 a.m. in the 200 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue in Austin.

Officers say they believe the vehicle may have been a Nissan.
Following the shooting, the four individuals got back into the car and fled the scene, heading southbound.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and authorities say an investigation is underway.
