Magic Johnson Reveals What He Truly Feels About Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese Rivalry

NBA icon Magic Johnson absolutely loves the budding rivalry between Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky wing Angel Reese. In fact, the presence of the two rising stars has made him more excited than ever about the WNBA.

Aside from discussing the massive attention that both Clark and Reese have brought to the game, Johnson also pointed out how much their rivalry has helped in growing the WNBA.

The Los Angeles Sparks co-owner shared that it's definitely a "great" thing for women's basketball, especially since he's seeing real growth now with the two youngsters at the center of it.

“It’s great for the women’s game , it’s the most excited I’ve been because I see the game growing," Johnson told the Associated Press about the rivalry between Clark and Reese.

"Before we didn’t have the growth. But now we have the growth. These two certainly are helping."

The numbers certainly back up Magic Johnson's take on the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry. While the Fever rookie has been the biggest draw, the Sky rising star has also been influential in promoting the league.

In fact, when Clark's Fever and Reese's Sky met last June 23, the game drew 2.3 million viewers on ESPN. That makes it the most-viewed WNBA game across all networks in the past 23 years.

As Clark and Reese continues their rivalry, the WNBA and women's basketball in general stand to benefit even more.
