(670 The Score) White Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet has been named the American League Pitcher of the Month for June, MLB announced Wednesday.

Crochet went 1-1 with a 1.91 ERA and 56 strikeouts against just six walks in 37 2/3 innings across six starts in June. This marks Crochet’s first such monthly honor, and he’s the first White Sox player to win it since right-hander Dylan Cease did so in June and July 2022.

The 25-year-old Crochet has a 3.02 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in 18 starts this season, which marks his first as a starter in MLB. His 141 strikeouts leads all of MLB and has walked just 20 batters in 101 1/3 innings.

Crochet is the only MLB pitcher since at least 1901 to record at least 140 strikeouts and 20 or fewer walks in his first 18 career starts, according to White Sox research.
