CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — Fast food chain Jack in the Box is set to return to the Chicago area in 2025, with a plan to open 8 restaurants in the suburbs and possibly expand to 125 more in the region.

According to the company, the first wave of locations will open throughout next year.

“This strategic expansion into Chicago allows us to not only satisfy long-standing customer demand for our brand, but also to become a key member in the region’s thriving restaurant scene,” said Darin Harris, CEO of Jack in the Box. “We’re excited to bring our unique menu where customers can order any item at any time – day or night and we’re confident Jack in the Box will quickly become a favorite local destination.”

WMAQ reported that the initial restaurants will open in Chicago, Countryside, Tinley Park, New Lenox, Plainfield, Naperville, Carol Stream and Lake in the Hills.

Future restaurants would open throughout the region, from Indiana to Wisconsin.

The 24/7 restaurants will offer dine-in, drive-thru, and mobile ordering of burgers, tacos, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, breakfast and late night “cravable menu.”

The company said Tuesday that the Midwest expansion is part of an aggressive plan to open in Utah, Kentucky, Arkansas, Montana, Wyoming, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, and internationally in Mexico.
