Angel Reese's prowess is reaching new heights for the Sky.

The 22-year-old rookie posted her career highs in rebounds and then in points in Chicago's last two games. On Sunday, she kept the good times rolling, snatching an even greater accomplishment in the process.

Reese's latest three double-doubles secured her a space in the WNBA record books. She surpassed Candace Parker for sole possession of the longest double-double streak in WNBA history with 13 in a row.

The newly minted WNBA All-Star notched 12 points and a career-high 19 rebounds Tuesday in an 85-77 win over the Dream. Then she posted a personal-best 27 points and 10 rebounds Friday in an 88-84 win against the Storm. She followed up that glimmering display with another one vs. Seattle, recording 17 points and 14 rebounds during an 84-71 loss.

Her recent performances have reinforced Reese's place right alongside her rival Caitlin Clark in the 2024 Rookie of the Year race. And with one more double-double, she could secure solo possession of the record for longest streak.

Here's what you need to know about Reese's record chase, one that reached its pinnacle during her most recent contest against the Storm.

The WNBA Rookie of the Month for June, Reese already has established herself as one of the league's top rebounders.

The 6-3 forward leads the league with 11.7 rebounds per game, and her 19-rebound night not only set a new career high but also set a franchise record and the high-water mark for the league this season.

Now Reese joins Parker atop the leaderboard for consecutive double-doubles.

Reese already surpassed the recently retired WNBA great for the most consecutive double-doubles in a single season (10). Parker also had a streak of 12 in a row between the 2009 and 2010 seasons, which Reese tied with Friday's double-double.

With another double-double to her name, Reese now holds the all-time WNBA record for most consecutive double-doubles — and in just her first season in the league.

Her next goal? The Sky phenom could take aim at the WNBA record for double-doubles in a single season, set just last year by Alyssa Thomas, who racked up 28 in 40 games. Reese sits at 13 in 19 games so far in 2024.

Sylvia Fowles holds the WNBA record for most career double-doubles, with 193 across 15 seasons before her retirement in 2022.

To stand on level terms with Parker — a three-time WNBA champion and two-time MVP — is no small feat.

Among Parker's many accomplishments is her record double-double streak, which started at the end of the 2009 season and continued into the 2010 season. (Note: The streak includes only regular-season games.)

Parker, who won the WNBA MVP award as a rookie in 2008, missed the first eight games of the 2009 season after giving birth to her daughter. Upon her return, she continued the strong start to her career, averaging 13.1 points and a league-leading 9.8 rebounds per game.

Her dominance continued in 2010. Her double-double streak ended in the seventh game of the season, but she averaged 20.6 points and 10.1 rebounds through 10 games before a shoulder injury sidelined her for the remainder of the year.

Here's a look at the five longest double-double streaks in WNBA history, courtesy of Across the Timeline :
