    Angel Reese's Emotional Exchange With Chicago Sky Coach Goes Viral

    Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was recently announced as a 2024 WNBA All-Star. Following the announcement, Reese shared an emotional moment with Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon.

    Reese spoke on the impact Weatherspoon has had on her WNBA career, sharing high praise for the first-year coach.

    "She's meant everything to me. I've had amazing coaches in my career but this one is like special. She understands me off the court. She understands me on the court. She believes in me," said Reese via Yahoo Sports on X.

    The post on X was flooded with heartwarming comments, as Reese was in tears when speaking about Weatherspoon. The video reached over 100k views by Yahoo Sports alone.

    Reese is battling for the league's Rookie of the Year award, most notably against Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark. The LSU Tigers product has averaged 13.2 points and a league-leading 11.8 rebounds, making her the only rookie in the league averaging a double-double.

    Reese has arguably been Chicago's best two-way player, competing in a high energy environment with Weatherspoon leading the way.

    The 22-year-old star has spoken highly of Chicago and the opportunity she's had with Weatherspoon, explaining that her happiness dropping to the Sky as the seventh overall pick in the WNBA draft.

    While Reese has struggled in terms of efficiency, shooting 39.7% from the field, she's accomplished some great things in her first year in the league.

    She recently notched her 11th straight double-double, holding the WNBA record for the most consecutive double-doubles in a season. Reese and Clark are also the first rookie tandem to join the WNBA All-Star game since 2014.

    Chicago will be back on the hardwood on Friday against the Seattle Storm at 10 p.m. ET.
