    Boy, 16, critically injured in group beating attack in Norwood Park, police say

    CHICAGO — A 16-year-old boy was left in critical condition after being attacked by a group of males and hit by a car, according to the Chicago Police Department.

    Police said the teen was standing in the street in the 7300 block of West Gregory Street around 11:45 p.m. Friday when a group of unknown males approached and physically beat him. After beating him, the group got into a white sedan and the driver struck the victim as they fled the scene.

    Police said the victim suffered a broken jaw and punctured lungs, among other various injuries, and was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in critical condition.

    Police have no one in custody and the circumstances of the incident remain unknown as Area Five detectives continue to investigate.
