(670 The Score) White Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet has been named an All-Star.

It marks the first such honor of the 25-year-old Crochet’s career and comes in his first season as a starter in the big leagues. Crochet has been one of the most dominant pitchers in MLB this season, posting a 3.08 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 19 starts. Crochet’s 146 strikeouts and 12.5 strikeouts-per-nine-innings rate led all MLB pitchers entering play Sunday.

Crochet has 11 quality starts, which is tied for 12th in MLB. His 105 1/3 innings mark, by far, the biggest workload of his MLB career. Crochet had logged a total of 73 innings in his first three MLB seasons. He missed the entire 2022 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Crochet will be the lone White Sox representative in the All-Star Game, which will be held July 16 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
