    Deadly shooting in Back of the Yards one of several shootings across Chicago since Monday evening, CPD reports

    CHICAGO — A shooting in the Back of the Yards neighborhood left one person dead overnight on the city’s South Side.

    According to Chicago police, officers responded to a call of a person down at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 4700 block of South Marshfield Avenue and discovered an unidentified male on the street.

    The victim had been shot in the head, police say, and was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

    There is nobody in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating the incident.

    The deadly shooting was one of six reported by police between 8 p.m. Monday and early Tuesday morning, with six people reportedly wounded — including a 15-year-old boy — in the other five shootings.
