Chicago Sky Star Receives Technical Foul For Emotional Outburst at WNBA Referees

The Chicago Sky and the New York Liberty are playing each other for the second time in three days on Saturday.

While this isn't a must-win for the Sky, getting a win against New York would be big for them; especially because Liberty star forward Breanna Stewart has been sidelined for the game due to a nagging hamstring injury.

But because the Liberty are so elite, Angel Reese and Company must play mistake-free basketball if they're to earn a win.

Which is why receiving silly technical fouls should not be a part of their game plan.

Yet, that's exactly what happened in the first half of Saturday's game.

Star Sky forward Marina Mabrey received a technical foul for jawing at the referees for not calling a foul during the second quarter.

Although Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon surely was not happy about Mabrey giving the Liberty a free point, the fact that Mabrey has already has 11 points and 6 rebounds in the first half might make her less upset.

What's for sure is that the Sky have their work cut out for them in the second half, as they're down by nine points at halftime.
