Chicago Bears Fans Will Love This Prediction For Caleb Williams

For the second year in a row, the Chicago Bears landed the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft. After trading it away in 2023, they kept it in 2024, selecting USC quarterback Caleb Williams.

Normally, quarterbacks going at the top of the draft are joining less-than-ideal situations. The first pick goes to the team with the worst record, usually meaning there is a lot of work to do with the roster.

That is not the case for Caleb Williams. He is joining a Chicago Bears roster that has been overhauled over the last two years by general manager Ryan Poles.

Poles has done an excellent job of upgrading the roster so that his prized rookie can hit the ground running. Caleb Williams will have an embarrassment of riches to work with in Year 1.

As part of the trade with the Carolina Panthers centered around the No. 1 pick in 2023, the Chicago Bears acquired wide receiver D.J. Moore. This offseason, the team acquired Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers in a trade.

On top of adding Allen, the team used the No. 9 pick on Washington star wide receiver Rome Odunze. At tight end, the team has a strong duo in Cole Kmet and free agent addition Gerald Everett.

Joining Caleb Williams in the backfield will be D’Andre Swift. After a career season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023, he parlayed that into a multi-year deal with the Chicago Bears.

Given all of the weaponry surrounding the former Heisman Trophy winner, Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report has made a bold prediction for Caleb Williams in 2024. Sobleski believes that he is going to shatter the franchise’s rookie passing record.

“No Chicago Bears quarterback has ever thrown for 4,000 yards in a single season. Some might view the proclamation of a Bears rookie shattering a passing record in his first year as a major stretch. But Caleb Williams is different. More importantly, his supporting cast is, too…

During a full 17-game slate, Williams will need to average 257.4 passing yards per game to beat the figure. Last season, 10 quarterbacks, who appeared in five or more games, averaged more, including rookie C.J. Stroud, though he only appeared in 15 contests,” Sobleski wrote .

There will certainly be an adjustment period to the NFL for Caleb Williams. But, as C.J. Stroud showed last season, with a good supporting cast and the right system, production can be had right away.
