Angel Reese Receives New Nickname from WNBA All-Star Game Teammate After Viral Post

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese stole the show during the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game.

The double-double record-setter scored 12 points and added 11 rebounds (5 of which were offensive boards) in Team WNBA's win over Team USA.

Reese had a lot of wholesome moments with her Team WNBA teammates across All-Star Weekend.

She went viral for scoring on a Caitlin Clark assist during the actual game, shared a high-five celebration with Fever forward Aliyah Boston during a practice, and appeared to be laughing with Seattle Storm star Nneka Ogwumike at all times.

But it was Los Angeles Sparks standout Dearica Hamby who offered Reese a new nickname.

Reese posted a series of photos from WNBA All-Star Weekend to her Instagram on Monday, with the caption, "All-Star Barbie Pt.2 💞😇💋🤩".

One of the photos shows her and Hamby speaking together during a press conference.

And Hamby commented on the post writing, "Mini 5 & Mama 5 🥹".

This is a reference to both Reese and Hamby wearing No. 5 for their respective WNBA teams.

Hamby, being 30 year old, is clearly "Mama 5" while the 22-year-old Reese is, "Mini 5".

It's great to see Reese rubbing shoulders with WNBA veterans.
