Much has already been made about Chicago Bears cornerback Jonathan Owens receiving permission to miss a few days of NFL training camp so that he can watch his wife Simone Biles compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Biles told reporters earlier this month that this will be the first of Biles' major international competitions that Owens has been able to attend, due to his busy NFL schedule.

And the Chicago Bears are being shown a lot of respect by fans for granting Owens the opportunity to do this.

But Bears head coach hadn't spoken out about Owens' Olympics decision until an article by ESPN's Courtney Cronin was released on Monday.

"Just because we respect the Olympics," coach Matt Eberflus said when asked when went into the decision to leet Owens attend. "That is a big deal. And he's just supporting the one he loves the most. And I think that's so cool that he gets to do that. We welcome that and it's going to be awesome.

    "Go USA," he added.

The article also states that, "Owens has excused absences July 29-August 3, and is expected back at practice on August 4."

Biles is expected to secure multiple gold medals in Paris.
