The 2024 Paris Olympics kicks off on July 26, and few people are more excited than Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, husband of gymnastics phenom Simone Biles.

Biles, who crushed the competition at the U.S. Trials in Minneapolis last month, is predicted to make Olympic history in Paris as the most-decorated American gymnast of all-time.

While attending training camp is mandatory, and unexcused absences can lead to massive fines, Bears head coach Matt Eberflus made a special exception for Owens this summer, and gave him time off to watch his wife compete in person in Paris.

Eberflus, who excused Owens from practice between July 29 and August 3, shared a powerful message on what led the franchise to make the decision.

"Just because we respect the Olympics," Eberflus told ESPN . "That is a big deal. And he's just supporting the one he loves the most. And I think that's so cool that he gets to do that. We welcome that and it's going to be awesome. Go USA."

Due to COVID restrictions, Owens could only watch his then-girlfriend compete from home during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, during which she suffered a bout of "the twisties," a dangerous condition where a gymnast has no control over their body on high level elements, and was forced to with draw from competition.

In Paris, Owens, along with Biles' parents, Ronald and Nellie Biles, will make sure the 27-year-old feels their support.

Owens posted a tribute to Biles after she secured her spot to compete in her third Olympics. He wrote, "No words can describe how proud of you i am baby 🤎 Just knowing all the work that you put in and everything that you’ve been through, and to still come back and be as dominant as ever, i was speechless.

"I’m so thankful to be apart of this journey with you, and i cant wait to be able to watch you out there in Paris. I’m so happy for you babe!!!! 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷 Cheers to going to your third Olympic Games!!!!!! Just sounds so surreal being able to say my wife is the best to EVER do it, how did i get so lucky 😌 I love you so much 🤞🏽🤞🏽."
