It's surprising how many high-impact free agents still are out there with training camp officially upon us.

Teams across the National Football League are starting to get their first look at their franchises with the 2024 season on the horizon. It will be here before you know it and there are plenty of free agents still looking for their next opportunities ahead of the 2024 campaign.

One player who surprisingly still is a free agent is former Chicago Bears defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. He spent the 2023 season with the Bears and had four sacks in 13 games played and is just 29 years old.

There have been some rumblings about his next destination throughout the offseason and he reportedly will work out with the Carolina Panthers this week, according to the Charlotte Observer's Mike Kaye.

"Former (New York Jets) and (Cincinnati Bengals) pass rusher Carl Lawson and former Bears and (Jacksonville Jaguars) pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue are expected to work out for the Panthers this week, per league source," Kaye said.

He was selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by Jacksonville and spent the first four seasons of his career with the team. Since then, he has spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, and Bears.

Ngakoue is a one-time Pro Bowler and still should be an intriguing option for teams in free agency. Hopefully, he is able to impress in his workout with the Panthers and lock up his next contract soon.
