For as long as the NFL has existed, the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers have been arch-rivals. Over the past few decades, the Packers have gotten the better of the Bears largely due to Aaron Rodgers' dominance under center for Green Bay. Now playing for the New York Jets, Rodgers' reign over the Bears is over and the Packers and Bears have moved on to young quarterbacks in Jordan Love and Caleb Williams, respectively.

On Barstool Sports' "Pardon My Take" podcast, Rodgers spoke about the Bears' new signal-caller.

"Yeah, I do," Rodgers said when asked if he thinks Williams will succeed at the next level. "I like [D'Andre] Swift, I like Keenan [Allen], I like the receiver from Washington [Rome Odunze], he's good. And then, of course, you still got DJ [Moore]. I think that team is almost good enough to beat the Packers. Almost good enough."

Rivalry jab aside, that's a nice endorsement of Williams, whose play style has often been compared to Rodgers. Williams will have a great opportunity to show off this talent as he enters the league with one of the NFL's best receiving corps. Now it's up to Williams to put it all together at the NFL level.

The Bears will get their first shot at the Packers on Nov. 17, which is fairly late in the season for the division rivals to clash. The hope is that the preceding portion of the schedule will give Williams time to develop and build rapport with the offense.

Bears fans have heightened expectations entering 2024, and beating the Packers would be a step in the right direction toward contention. Chicago hasn't defeated Green Bay since Dec. 16, 2018, a slump Williams is hoping to end for the Monsters of the Midway.
