    CPD: Man unfamiliar with Chicago area missing for 6 weeks

    CHICAGO — A search is underway this weekend for a man who has been missing for six weeks and police say he is not familiar with the Chicago area.

    Chicago police say Ariel Childress, a 34-year-old man who may be confused, has been missing since June 15.

    Officers say Childress has been seen in areas near the 10500 block of South Halsted Street, in Washington Heights, and the 100 block of West 103rd Street in Roseland.

    According to police, the missing man, who stands 5-foot-10 and weighs around 180 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair. Childress is also known to have a tattoo on the lower part of his left leg that reads “Cash Money.”

    A photo provided by Chicago police shows Childress with a beard, however, it is unclear if he had one at the time of his disappearance.

    Authorities notified the public about the missing man’s disappearance in a news release sent out on Friday evening.
