The Chicago White Sox made another deal ahead of the 2024 MLB trade deadline by sending infielder Paul DeJong to the Kansas City Royals, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic , in exchange for minor-league pitcher Jarold Rosado, per Daryl Van Schouwen of The Chicago Sun-Times .

DeJong joined the White Sox in the offseason and enjoyed a power uptick during his time on the South Side. The veteran slashed .228/.275/.430 with a team-leading 18 home runs across 363 plate appearances for the Sox.

It's an interesting situation for DeJong as the White Sox and Royals are currently amid a three-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field. After going 1-for-3 with an RBI for the White Sox on Monday, the soon-to-be 31-year-old will switch dugouts for the remainder of the series, pending a physical.

    White Sox Return

Jarold Rosado, a 22-year-old right-handed reliever, was unranked among the Royals' top 30 prospects, per MLB Pipeline. The 6-foot-3 hurler owns a 1.85 ERA and 11.08 K/9 across 39 innings for Single-A Columbia this season. Rosado will report to Single-A Kannapolis upon joining the White Sox organization.
