Former New York Giants wide receiver and Super Bowl champion Amani Toomer did not hold back during his appearance on "The Carton Show" Thursday, delivering some harsh critique of No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams.

Toomer expressed his strong disapproval of Williams' recent viral actions in the locker room. On Tuesday, Chicago Bears safety Kevin Byard shared on 670 The Score that Williams had asked his Bears teammates to clean up after themselves, expressing concern over the mess left for custodians and staff.

Toomer took issue with this, asserting that rookies, regardless of their draft status, should not be dictating locker room behavior.

"Some rookie is going to come in who hasn’t played one snap, wearing fingernail polish, and tell me who’s been here for eight years, who’s been through the struggle, that I need to clean up," Toomer remarked. "No rookie, how about you clean up after me?"

He further compared Williams to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, known for his vocal leadership both on and off the field.

"He's Russell Wilson 2.0, this is not gonna go over well," Toomer added.

While Williams' actions might be seen as a way to bond with teammates and foster a cleaner environment, Toomer believes that respect must be earned, not assumed based on draft position alone.

"I don’t like it at all," Toomer concluded. "I feel like rookies should earn their respect. Just because you got drafted number one overall doesn’t mean nothing to me because I don’t even know if you’re good."

It’s evident that Toomer's reaction reflects strong disapproval of Williams' approach, emphasizing that in the NFL, respect is hard-earned through performance and dedication, not simply given based on a draft slot.
