Notable White Sox reporter predicts managerial change is forthcoming

The Chicago White Sox have put together yet another poor season. They went 61-101 last season and finished in fourth place in the American League Central.

Things have only gotten worse for the South Siders. They've already secured another losing season and have the worst record in baseball at 27-84.

The pressure is mounting for White Sox manager Pedro Grifol, and Jesse Rogers of ESPN expects them to make a change by Monday.

"There have been a lot of signs that they're going to make a change," Rogers said. "I asked (General Manager) Chris Getz on deadline night Tuesday, 'Hey, can you at least just say he's safe in the next couple of months?' I think the phrase I used was 'just to clear the deck of that news,' and he certainly didn't give a ringing endorsement."

Trouble has been brewing for the White Sox for the past few seasons, and it appears that Getz is not blind to the fact that things have gotten out of hand.

If Getz didn't give a "ringing endorsement" as Rogers said, then it would appear that Grifol's days as the team's manager are numbered and could be over very soon.

Chicago has already dug themselves a 40-game hole in the AL Central and a 34-game deficit in the AL Wild Card race. Any chance of reaching the postseason is lost at this point.

They held onto Garrett Crochet at the deadline, but that ultimately won't save them from their fate, nor will it save Grifol's job, especially if they're already thinking about making a change.
