Caleb Williams' Blunt Response to C.J. Stroud Comparison Has Fans Hyped

On Thursday night, the Chicago Bears kicked off their NFL preseason with a 21-17 win over the Houston Texans. Unfortunately for fans, Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams did not see any playing time, and the game was terminated in the third quarter due to weather.
Williams is already expected to start for Chicago to begin the regular season, so fans may not get to see him in game action until September. But the hype around the former USC Trojans Heisman winner is unreal. So much so that he is getting comparisons to the 2023 NFL rookie sensation C.J. Stroud.
On Friday's edition of First Take , Williams and wide receiver DJ Moore joined the show, and when Stephen A. Smith asked Williams if he and Chicago could do what Stroud and Houston did last season, Williams gave a direct response.
Smith: "You got [Moore], you got Keenan Allen, you drafted [Rome] Odunze. You got three potential 1,000-yard receivers. You can throw the football, you can play, you ain't no d**n scrub. Is it wrong for me to say I saw CJ Stroud do that last year in Houston, I think [you] could do that this year?"
"No," Williams responded.

Last season, Moore was the lone Bears receiver to record over 1,000 yards. The new wide receiver editions will be big for Chicago as Allen tallied 1,243 yards with the Los Angeles Chargers last year, and Rome Odunze notched 1,640 yards in his final season with the Washington Huskies.
NFL fans loved Williams' response to Smith's question comparing him to Stroud and took to social media to leave their thoughts.
"Rookie of the year!"
"I like when QBs are a confident and a lil arrogant Caleb knows he's nice"
"best qb in the north already"
"My dawg gonna ball out. Shut all his critics up!"
"He’s already the best QB in the NFC but the casuals aren’t ready for that conversation"
"CW18 oozes confidence"
In his final season with USC, Williams completed 266-of-388 passing attempts for 3,633 yards and 30 touchdowns. He also added 11 touchdowns on the ground.
