Insider slams White Sox for 'organizational failure,' predicts changes to come

It has been a nightmare season for the Chicago White Sox. They have lost 18 consecutive games and own the worst record in Major League Baseball at 27-85.

There are problems up and down the roster and throughout the organization, and they may lead to changes happening in the future.

On Foul Territory, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic shed light on the team's issues and predicted that changes may be coming soon , particularly with manager Pedro Grifol.

"I still expect it to happen in short order," Rosenthal said on Friday. "Obviously, when something like this happens, the manager bears some responsibility, clearly. But this goes far beyond Pedro Grifol, and when the manager is dismissed, the way I often look at it is that it's an organizational failure. Your organization failed to put a good enough team on the field to have a manager succeed."

Grifol certainly bears responsibility for how poorly the 2024 season has gone for the White Sox. He also was at the helm for last year's 61-101 finish.

But Rosenthal correctly pointed out that there are plenty of other issues with this team and that the problems go far beyond Grifol. The White Sox have failed in several aspects this year and it has led them to this moment.

The White Sox are far out of postseason contention and are likely still several years away from contending. But the issues go beyond just Grifol, as Rosenthal pointed out, and it likely won't be long before some key changes take place.
