Pop singer Tate McRae gave her all during her performance at this year’s Lollapalooza festival, and it almost cost her .

The Canadian-bred singer brought attitude to the Chicago festival, sporting a red bra top lined with white fabric, matching mini-shorts that sparkled under the stage lights, and high-heeled gray slouchy boots. Tate seemed to be in the zone while she put on her show, and as she confidently strutted down the stage steps the unthinkable happened .

The So You Think You Can Dance finalist tripped, appearing to have twister her leg behind her as she went down, causing the audience to audibly gasp- while some onlookers feared she "snapped her leg in half."

However, she quickly recovered, seemingly shaking off her accident, and continuing on with the show. A clip of her tumble was shared on X, formerly Twitter. Several have commented on the incident.

"Did anyone else see tate mcrae fall on stage today or only me?? She got up so quick tho that woman wasted NO TIME," one asked on X. "SHE STILL SLAYYED," another replied, brushing off her accident. Tate showed on Saturday night that she was a true professional, who can handle anything thrown her way. Her ability to work the stage is testament to how long she's been perfecting her craft. Tate has been working in the entertainment industry ever since she was a little girl.

With a mom for a dance teacher, it's not surprising that she took up the art. Tate began dance training at the age of six and attended The American International School Muscat in Oman, where she lived for a time with her parents. In 2011 Tate launched her on YouTube Channel where she mostly posted dance videos. At the age of only 13 she became the first Canadian finalist on the American reality show So You Think You Can Dance in 2016. Notable performances from her early dance career include starring in Walk Off The Earth’s video for Rule the World, performing at a concert for Justin Bieber ’s Purpose world tour and dancing in a troupe on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Tate started sharing her songs on YouTube in 2017, and the first song, One Day, which she wrote when she was 14, went viral and was released as a single that was certified gold in Canada. After continuously posting new singles as part of her Create With Tate series, she attracted the attention of record labels, signing with RCA Records in 2019 when her debut EP All the Things I Never Said was released.
