Aaron Rodgers in firing line as NFL All-Pro sounds off on 'disrespectful' treatment

Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson took aim at four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers and fumed over “b-------” after missing out on the NFL Network’s Top 100 list.

Last season, Johnson starred as the Bears defense dragged the franchise to victories down the stretch. The 25-year-old finished the season with 31 tackles and a career-high 4 interceptions, helping him get named to the Pro Bowl and secure an All-Pro nomination en route to a four-year contract worth $76 million.

Meanwhile, New York Jets quarterback Rodgers made the list even though he played just four snaps last season. Naturally, Johnson is furious with his omission as a result, insisting his NFL peers disrespected his play.

“It’s b-------,” he said. “There ain’t no way. I don’t know how you make Pro Bowl, All-Pro, and [are] not a Top 100 guy. I could’ve been 101, I guess, but, goddamn, Aaron Rodgers didn’t even play in the season, and he was voted [in].

The Top 100 is voted on by players, who fill out ballots in the locker room toward the end of the previous season. Johnson added: “Players clearly — if they voted for it — they made some goddamn mistakes. But it is what it is.

“At the end of the day, I know the truth, and it’s all right. I got some more for them. It’s disrespectful because I go out there, line up, and I know receivers go out there and can’t say that I’m not one of the best players that they play against. Whatever it is, it’s happened… ain’t no way 100 guys better - and especially guys who didn’t play who were hurt. Ain’t no way.”

Rodgers was No. 92 on the list. Johnson’s teammate Montez Sweat was ranked No. 82, and wide receiver Keenan Allen was No. 51.

Johnson is not the only player frustrated with the list. Patrick Mahomes , the two-time holder of the Top 100's No. 1 spot, was not even awarded a spot in the top three ; the two-time MVP’s 4,183 passing yards and 27 touchdowns this past season neared his career-low totals of 2019, but he still led the Kansas City Chiefs to another Lombardi Trophy.

The 2023 season was a struggle for the Chiefs for long stretches. Mahomes threw a career-high 14 interceptions as his receiving corps floundered at times in a difficult regular season, yet he course-corrected in the playoffs to win back-to-back championships - a third Super Bowl.

But he still missed out on a top-three berth. Mahomes wasn’t even the top quarterback on the list, with Baltimore Ravens star and reigning league MVP Lamar Jackson finishing second. San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey was third, with Miami Dolphins stud Tyreek Hill becoming the first receiver to top the list.
