Notice all the hydrangeas this year? Here’s why

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – It seems to be a good year for hydrangeas! All over, hydrangeas are in full bloom and looking beautiful this year and we are can attribute that to our past winter.

Temperatures inside cars can rise nearly 20 degrees within ten minutes during summer

Thanks to a mild winter, plus a wet winter and spring, our hydrangeas are nice, happy and flowering. With typical winters, the wind and cold would dry out the stems, leading the hydrangeas to take longer to bloom in the spring, but this year has been quite the opposite.

“The buds set earlier, late last year, no winter damage… everyone’s hydrangeas are just so happy,” said Naliai Benoit from Sixteen Acres Garden Center.

This spring has been the perfect weather for hydrangeas. In the event of a cold winter, you can actually prepare your hydrangeas with an anti-desiccant spray to prevent them from drying out and make them happier once it is spring.
