ROSS COUNTY – In partnership with the Ross County Junior Fair Board, the Pioneer Center participated in the Fair 4 All event at the Ross County Fair this week.

This event provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to show an animal in the arena with the help of a junior fair exhibitor and Pioneer staff.

“This event is planned and led by members of the Junior Fair Board,” said Superintendent of the Pioneer Center, Amy Beeler in a news release. “It is an honor to support their efforts and help provide this amazing opportunity to children with disabilities in Ross County."

This year, participants got to show either a sheep or a goat and met individually with volunteer judge, Madison Schumacher. Madison is the Vocational Agriculture teacher at Greenfield McClain as well as a licensed livestock judge. She has participated in this event from the beginning and says it is one of her favorite events at the Ross County Fair. Each participant received a rosette and a photo in Champions Row after the show.

“Ross County should be very proud of the youth that work so hard to make this event a success each year,” said Lacey Derexson, Community Outreach Director at the Pioneer Center. “We hope our participants will consider joining any of the great 4-H programs in the area."
