The 35th annual Ohio Model T Jamboree will be held in Chillicothe this Labor Day weekend Aug. 30-Sept. 1.

A gathering of between 65 and 100 cars is expected. The Jamboree will include tours in and around Ross County with trips through Scioto Trails, South Salem, Greenfield, Austin, Frankfort, Pleasant Valley, Kingston, Tarleton, Oakland, Laurelville, Adelphi along with the counties of Highland, Pickaway, Fairfield and Hocking.

While the purpose of a Jamboree is to actually drive, there will be an opportunity to see many find examples of display in Yoctangee Park from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday while the participants enjoy a private event in the park. The documented very first Model T ever sold in Chillicothe was recently purchased and returned to Ross County. It is scheduled to be on display by 6 p.m. Friday.

Model Ts were built from Oct. 1, 1908, through May 26, 1927, with over 15 million sold. A number that was not exceeded until 1972 by the Volkswagen Beetle.

The River Valley "T" Club (an Ohio Chapter of the Model T Club of America) will be the host for this event.
