Lightning warnings now to be heard in Hewitt parks
Hewitt, Tx ( FOX44) – The Hewitt Fire Department has posted information saying lightning alerts are now available in city parks. The sirens are actually part of the outdoor warning system but are a smaller type than the others. A Hewitt Fire Department Facebook post said they are hooked into the National Weather Service and will go off when there is a lightning strike within 10 miles. The sirens will only alert between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
