Pennsylvania Man Sentenced To Over 8 Years For Drug Trafficking In Vermont
The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont announced that Ronald Harris, 32, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on Wednesday by Chief United States District Judge Geoffrey Crawford to 100 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release. Harris had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine base, fentanyl, and heroin.

Man who trafficked drugs from local motels sentenced to 15 years
A Chittenden County drug dealer, whose operation was broken up during a raid at a South Burlington hotel in 2022, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison. Melvin K. Hill, 45, was convicted on five felony drug and gun charges by a jury in U.S. District Court in Rutland last summer.

Chittenden County Medicaid service providers charged with fraud
Vermont Business Magazine The Attorney General’s Office announced that Amy Trela, 48, of Winooski, Vermont, and Alicia Russell, 29, of Essex, Vermont, were both arraigned today as co-defendants, each charged with one count of felony Medicaid Fraud. The charges brought against Ms. Trela and Ms. Russell are the result of an investigation conducted by the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud and Residential Abuse Unit (MFRAU), which found that the defendants falsely certified Medicaid timesheets, defrauding Vermont Medicaid of over $62,000 in public health care funds since 2019.
