Three Lafayette High alumni join the Gatorettes
Three Lafayette High School (LHS) alumni joined the University of Florida (UF) Gatorettes and will be marching with the Gator Marching Band in the upcoming season. Logan Lents, Mia Braswell and Addison Byrd were majorettes with the LHS Marching Hornets, and all auditioned and made the Gatorettes, UF's majorettes team, for the 2024-25 season.

It’s not hard for Ahmad Onezime to reflect on the days when he envisioned himself — ball in hand — being a difference-maker on and off the basketball court. Iota Wins 2nd Annual Gridiron Football Tri-Parish 7v7 Tournament at St. Edmund
The second annual Gridiron Football Tri-Parish 7v7 Tournament was held at St. Edmund High School on Wednesday, June 19th. Once again, the tournament turned out to be a great event featuring 18 teams including Opelousas, Marksville, Acadiana Christian, Berchman’s Academy, St. Edmund, Ville Platte, Mamou, Westminster Christian Academy, Opelousas Catholic, Iota, Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy (ARCA), Northwest, Jeanerette, Sacred Heart, Westminster Christian Academy (Opelousas), Port Barre, and JS Clark.
