Global Freight and Logistics Firm TQL Opens Second Louisiana Office
TQL will open a new office in Baton Rouge and create 98 direct new jobs. The company is one of the largest logistics firms in North America. Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the second-largest freight brokerage in North America and one of the largest global third-party logistics firms, announced it is expanding its presence in Louisiana by establishing a new location in Baton Rouge.
Lafayette police officer who killed rapper in 2023 cleared of wrongdoing
A Lafayette police officer who fatally shot a rapper outside La Bamba nightclub on Johnston Street in 2023 was cleared of wrongdoing and is back on the job. Clayton Green was working off-duty security at the club in April 2023 when a fight broke out in the parking lot. According to police reports, Deiondre Solomon, 28, was involved in the fight when he allegedly retrieved a gun and shot a man in the lower abdomen.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - Hyundai vehicle owners in Louisiana may need to check their fuel pumps after a recall notice from the company that impacts nearly 55,000 vehicles. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the automotive company is recalling certain 2019-2023 models of Genesis G70, Veloster N, Elantra N, and Kona N because of problems with the fuel delivery system.
