Discount retailer Big Lots said earlier this month it planned on closing 35-40 locations, citing decreased customers spending. Locations for prospective closures and the timeframe for such closures weren’t disclosed at the time. Commission requests money to repair Heymann Performing Arts Center
A new study being contracted by the Heymann Commission will again look at the current site of the Heymann Performing Arts Center, examining whether to renovate the historic facility as opposed to replacing it. In the interim, the commission is requesting $250,000 for repairs in the upcoming Lafayette city budget.
