Longtime News 5 (WLWT-TV) anchor Courtis Fuller is stepping down from his weekend anchor role, the station announced Friday. The move is effective Sunday, Aug. 25.

Fuller, who has spent nearly 40 years at WLWT, will remain with the station and focus on its "Let's Talk Cincy" community affairs program starting in September. He has hosted it since its debut in 2019.

“I felt it was time to reduce my daily workload, to take a step back,” Fuller said in a press release. “I also wanted to devote more time to our 'Let’s Talk Cincy' program. This new role gives me more of a work/life balance, and still allows me to share the stories about all the good folks and organizations in our area. It has been a blessing to anchor the news for many decades at WLWT.”

Fuller has won multiple Emmys across his career and was part of the inaugural WLWT Hall of Fame class in 2023, according to his bio .

“Courtis is literally a living legend in Cincinnati and in the broadcast industry,” said WLWT President and General Manager Branden Frantz in a statement. “While we will miss his presence on the weekend behind the anchor desk, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for his continued contributions on 'Let’s Talk Cincy,' a program that touches so many lives through his impactful storytelling.”
