New music venue coming to Covington

Galaxie , a popular bar and music venue in Louisville's East Market District, is planning to open a sister location in Covington this fall near Hotel Covington.

Construction is already underway on the former Acme Lock building at 815 Madison Ave., where Galaxie expects to open in late fall, according to Elizabeth Post, a spokeswoman for Galaxie.

The project includes a new bar and restaurant, along with space for live music performances and live DJs.

"Galaxie is a modern take on the classic neighborhood bar,'' said Owner Thor Morgan. "This fall, (Covington) guests will be introduced to our out-of-this-world margaritas, creative food menu, and eclectic live music.''

Cincinnati-based Comey & Shepherd Realtors brokered the deal between Galaxie and Pennsylvania-based owner Blue Bridge Holdings to redevelop the building, which will include a complete overhaul of the building's unfinished garage space and outdated retail space.

“Galaxie in Louisville has been incredibly successful and is bringing their entertainment concept to Covington as part of their growth strategy in Kentucky,” said Christopher Pfeiffer of The Pfeiffer Group and a Realtor at Comey & Shepherd.
