Which players were named 2024 LaRosa's high school MVPs?

The LaRosa's High School Sports Hall of Fame announced that Moeller running back Jordan Marshall and Purcell Marian girls basketball player Dee Alexander are the high school MVPs for the 2023-2024 school year.

Marshall enjoyed a record-breaking season in which he ran for 1,550 yards and 17 touchdowns on his way to being named Ohio Mr. Football.

On Sept. 29 at Elder, he broke Marcus Blanks' career rushing record, finishing his Crusader career with 4,783 rushing yards. He ran for 100 yards 28 times in his prep career, highlighted by a career-best 263 yards in a 2023 postseason win over St. Xavier. Following his recent graduation from Moeller, Marshall has begun his collegiate career at the University of Michigan.

Alexander, a two-time Ohio Miss Basketball winner, scored 1,896 career points and led the Cavaliers to three straight state championships, one as a member of Division III and two as a member of DII.

She owns the school's single-game scoring record (49 points vs. McNicholas on Jan. 3, 2022) and single-season record (700 points in her sophomore year). She is the Ohio High School Athletic Association's all-time girls basketball state tournament scoring leader at 134 points and counting. She is verbally committed to the University of Cincinnati.

Marshall and Alexander were recognized at the 2024 Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which honored the 2004 Mount Notre Dame girls basketball team, 1986 Purcell Marian football team, Dennis Janson, Andrew Benintendi, Rose Lavelle, Luke Maile, Cindy Stern, Adolphus Washington and Dale Mueller.
