Bengals’ QB Joe Burrow Sets Bold Goal For 2024 NFL Season

The 2023 NFL campaign was a rough one for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, as he began the season nursing a calf issue and then was knocked out for the year due to a wrist injury in Week 11.

Burrow is on the mend and seems like he should be ready to go in Week 1, and now, he wants to do something he has never done before in his professional career: play every game.

“Well, number one, I want to be on the field for all the games,” Burrow said, via Ben Felderstein of Complex . “I know I’m going to play well when I’m out there. I’m at that point in my career where I’ve seen enough to know myself that I can go out there and play as well as anybody in the game.”

Since entering the NFL in 2020, Burrow has never played a full season.

A devastating knee injury concluded his rookie year after just 10 games, and he missed one contest in each of 2021 and 2022.

So can he actually play a full 17-game campaign in 2024?

“The biggest strides this year are going to be my body and learning how to get through the season, get through practices with my body, and feeling in tip-top shape. And so that’s the main focus for the offseason,” Burrow said.

Can Joe Burrow and the Bengals get back to the playoffs?

The Bengals managed to go 9-8 last season in spite of Burrow missing the back half of the season, but it wasn’t enough for them to make the playoffs.

    Can Cincinnati rebound in 2024?

Remember: this is a team that is three seasons removed from a Super Bowl appearance, so we know that the Bengals have the talent to be a very dangerous ballclub.

However, there are unquestionably hurdles that Cincinnati will need to overcome.

Burrow’s health is the biggest one, but the Bengals also have issues defensively, as they ranked 31st in the league in yards allowed last year. Plus, Cincy lost a couple of key offensive weapons in running back Joe Mixon and wide receiver Tyler Boyd this offseason.

On top of all that, the Bengals play in the rugged AFC North division, which sent three squads to the postseason in 2023. Think about it: Cincinnati had a winning record and still finished in last place.

We know how good Burrow is when he is right, so if he remains healthy this coming season, the Bengals should be legitimate threats in the AFC yet again.

We’ll see if Joe Burrow and Co. can overcome all of the obstacles to make another deep playoff run.
