Amarius Mims crowned Bengals' best decision of offseason

The Cincinnati Bengals’ selection of Amarius Mims in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft has received mostly unanimous praise.

And it’s not hard to see why, either.

Mims boasts massive upside and yet, doesn’t need to start as a rookie for a team in need of serious help at right tackle. With a year to learn, he could end up as the long-term solution.

Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema hit similar themes when outlining each NFL team’s best decision this offseason:

Offensive tackle Amarius Mims went to the Bengals with their first-round choice, and the team signed free agent Trent Brown to potentially start at right tackle this year in the short term. Mims is the long-term answer, though, and we know that Burrow behind a good offensive line produces a Super Bowl ceiling.

When it comes to offseason decisions, something like attempting to replace Jessie Bates again with Geno Stone has to make the shortlist, too.

But with protecting Joe Burrow the No. 1 priority, nothing is going to beat the team drafting a guy who could end up as the best right tackle from the draft class.
