( PINPOINT WEATHER ) — The dangerously hot pattern is about to change as a cold front begins to move in from the west on Thursday. It will help get rid of the mid to upper 90s for a while, while at the same time giving us more opportunities for rain.

The overall stormy pattern will prevail through the weekend and early next week. Keep the umbrella handy! While most mornings and early afternoons will be dry, showers and storms will continue to blossom by mid to late afternoon and linger in spots through the evening. Some storms could turn severe with damaging wind gusts. Flooding may develop as well.

As for temperatures, the theme will be mid to upper 80s from Friday through the weekend. Still on the hot side, yes, but a little more bearable!

    Tonight : Lingering shower/t’storm. Low 74.

Thursday : Partly sunny with showers and storms developing. High 91.
