Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase drew cheers from NFL fans for his incredible, petty response when asked who he thought was named the league's best player in the Top 100 Players of 2024 list.

"I'm not saying him," Chase said. And while he never said the player's name, it's obvious he's talking about Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who's led Kansas City to back-to-back Super Bowl wins.

"I give credit when it's due, but I'm not saying his name," Chase added.

"I'm salty, though. I'm a little salty. Two years in a row," he continued.

"I'm putting Burrow first," a confident Chase finished.

While Mahomes is widely viewed as the league's best quarterback, Burrow isn't far behind.

He's one of two quarterbacks (Tom Brady) to beat Mahomes in the playoffs. Burrow led the Bengals to a stunning 18-point comeback at Arrowhead in the 2022 AFC Championship Game and has gone 2-0 against the two-time league MVP in the regular season.

    Fans loved Chase's response.

"This is the kind of generational hatred I like to see," wrote one.

"You want your WR1 to have this mindset and suppport his QB1 over any other QB," added another.

"I love it," "Gotta love it," and "I love hearing this kind of talk from the players. Makes the game more intriguing," responded others.

Burrow outperformed Mahomes in their two regular-season meetings. He's 55-of-70 (78.6 percent) for 732 yards and six touchdowns, while Mahomes has gone 42-of-62 (67.7 percent) for 482 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bengals travel to the Chiefs for a Week 3 matchup this season.
