The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a hazardous weather outlook leading up to Luke Combs's two sold-out shows at Paycor Stadium.

Showers and storms will likely occur again Wednesday afternoon and evening. Strong to damaging winds and locally heavy rain are the primary threats. The combination of heat and humidity will lead to heat index values near 100 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.

The weather service advises that individuals take extra precautions outside as hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Also, drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Several more showers and storms will likely occur Thursday through Friday, the day of Combs' first show. Some locally heavy rain and gusty winds will be the primary threats. Repeated rounds of heavy rain may lead to localized flooding, which could continue into Saturday.

Drier air will move into the area from the north on Saturday, but there is still potential for slow-moving downpours in the afternoon.
