A staple Over-the-Rhine bar will close and rebrand with a new concept.

In a news release issued Monday, Four Entertainment Group, also known as 4EG , announced the company will permanently close its popular bar The Drinkery in mid-August for a complete rebrand.

The location at 1150 Main St. is slated to reopen in late fall under the name Nice Life. Construction and renovation will begin in late August.

The company calls it a laid-back cocktail lounge with a rustic, modern and free-spirited vibe. It will offer a variety of beer, liquor and handcrafted cocktails, as well as Jell-O shots – a fan favorite menu item at The Drinkery. Live cover bands, local DJs and karaoke will also come as part of the bar's programming.

The Drinkery will host a sendoff party on Aug. 18 with drink specials and other festivities, and end the night with its signature karaoke event.

The Drinkery originally opened in 2010 and was purchased by 4EG in April 2023. The company operates bars and restaurants in Ohio, Northern Kentucky, Chicago and Florida. Some of its popular Cincinnati venues are Rosedale, the Lackman, Mac Shack and Japp's.
