Cincinnati Bengals roster hopeful catches an absolutely beautiful pass from Joe Burrow on Day 8 of training camp

Friday is apparently "throw it deep" day for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, and it's glorious.

Following a dot down the right sideline to second-year wide receiver Charlie Jones, Burrow heaved a pass about 50 yards through the air to another second-year wideout, Shedrick Jackson, for one of the absolute best passes we've ever seen from him.

Everyone knows Burrow to be a deadly accurate passer who throws with great timing and anticipation. His arm strength has always been the part of his game that's gotten any form of criticism. The likes of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Justin Herbert simply have stronger arms to make longer throws.

So when Burrow is rolling to his right and launching a long strike off platform—across his body—that lands perfectly in stride with a fast receiver like Jackson, heads will naturally turn. The throw prior to Jones, who's having a great camp as well , was just about perfect too.

All of those descriptors make this a play to highlight. We don't see Burrow cut it loose like this often, and when he does, it doesn't always turn out like this. He definitely had the advantage of the pursuing pass-rusher falling off his pursuit due to the practice setting, but the throw itself was still phenomenal.

Training camp is the first time we get reacquainted with the sheer arm talent the top quarterbacks in the league have. Mahomes is busy dropping dimes for the Chiefs , but we hadn't seen many like this from Burrow since he started throwing again following his wrist injury. The fifth-year QB is on track to play his first preseason game in three years.

It's also great that Jackson got to make this play. The nephew of multi-sport icon Bo Jackson is always down to chase one deep.

"It was really beautiful," Jackson said of Burrow's throw. "As a receiver, when you get those deep balls, it's a little bit you feel like it's overthrown, you gotta go get it. That's when it's perfect. Because you're gonna really lay out if you need to, and just go get it."

Jackson is one of the true roster bubble players this year , and it's not due to a lack of talent. The Bengals may keep him if they opt for seven receivers on the initial 53-man roster, but he'd likely be cut if they go with six instead.

The more plays he makes with Burrow, the better chance he has of sticking around.
